THE GUILD

The dance guild was formed in response to the need for a central information centre for MEDancers in the area.

It's aim is to share dance information amongst the Guild Members and to provide a public source for Middle Eastern Dance Information.

The Mandate of The Oasis, Middle Eastern Dance Guild is to promote a healthy acceptance of MEDance to the general public and to provide standards and guidelines for the Middle Eastern dancer through the Guild's information network.

THE OASIS, Middle Eastern Dance Guild is available for presentations, seminars, and workshops on the history, style and techniques of this fun and interesting dance form.

GUILD ASSOCIATE:

If you like getting involved in the production and promotion of MEDance from a co-operative viewpoint then Guild Association is for you. An Associate becomes an affiliate of THE OASIS, M.E.D.G. and will involve some required work time on Guild projects as well as acknowledgment of the affiliation on the dancer's promotions. Final acceptance as a Guild Associate is dependant on meeting and agreeing to abide by the Associate requirements and By-Laws of the Dance Guild.

A guild is a group of people coming together for a common purpose under specific guidelines set up by the Guild organizers.

People can use the Guild's services without becoming a 'member' or can apply to join the Guild.

The Guild is a private, not-for-profit organization managed by the Guild founder and appointed Directors. These Administrators carry out the day-to-day business of the Guild and provide the services that the Guild offers. Decisions and planning are the sole responsibility of the Founder and managing Directors. Guild Associates help share the workload through committee work.

The Dance Guild is not a dance troupe (although we have one) nor is it a club/ association (i.e. with formal elections/meetings, etc.). The Guild offers a community for dancers to explore and share their love of MEDancing. After the administration level, there are two main tiers of participation:

Our third level adds performance opportunities for the MEDancer: you don't need to be an Associate or Subscriber to sign up:

If you want a more hands-off approach, there are plenty of activities and services to subscribe to in order to keep in touch with the MEDance community without actively working on the Guild's committees.

THE ARABIAN OASIS DANCE REVIEW: (A DANCE COMPANY)

The AOD Review acts as an 'umbrella troupe' gathering dancers & troupes from outside of the Guild to perform in OASIS shows & productions . The participants in an A.O.D. Review change with each production….preference is given to dancers registered on our Dancer List….registering is easy!

Core members of the company are the Arabian Oasis Dancers, the performing dance troupe of The

OASIS, M.E.D.G. The dance troupe (Arabian Oasis Dancers) are made up of Guild Associates and fulfill performance and demonstration roles on behalf of the Guild.
